I'll never forget the first time I saw this plant in nature. It has an odd, prehistoric vibe. I understand it is high in silica? Used in the old days here in the USA to scrub pots (bundled up, it is both strong and abrasive).

I love its beauty. Mine here is in an old pond which has drained out but still damp. I’ve seen pictures of it in large pots and it make a fabulous feature. I will grow more I think. Yes very high in silicea and used as you say to scrub pots wherever it was grown although any bundle of plants would do that I guess
