Platina – the multiple personalities of white gold
White Gold – well, that’s a contradiction in itself but it is the starting point for the main delusion of this remedy. If you are not Gold, then you are always going to be second best.
The word ‘Platinum’ comes from the Spanish ‘Platinio’ meaning ‘Little Silver’.
Platinum, being white gold, will always try to be better than just white gold, so it pretends and takes on an extreme haughtiness in trying to get there. Sadly, it never does despite all those efforts. Repeated attempts in aiming for what can never be lead to multiple personalities.
Platina has been deeply hurt – there is wounded pride – and Platina will wound in return as a defence mechanism, but the hurt comes from a trauma that might equally have been physical, emotional or mental.
There are sensations as if constricted, bandaged, numb and dead, paralysed, lacerated, trembling, shocked, cramping, as if vanished (feeling unimportant), as if between screws. As if everything about her were too small; as if she were constantly growing longer and longer (Alice in Wonderland). As if she did not belong to her own family; as if head were enlarged; as if throat constricted; as if back had been broken – this all amounts to a great deal of damage that is the taint of Platina – this is enough to push them towards serious mental pathology of paranoia, delirium or utter prostration of the mind.
Delusion as if cut in two – divided, doesn’t know which direction to take; mental symptoms alternate with physical symptoms; cheerful alternating with sadness; she is tall but others are small; familiar things now seem horrible; laughing at serious matters; sadness at midnight, wants the sun to shine but then is contemptuous when the sun shines into the room.
Delusion does not belong to the family – where to go, who is going to look after them; shrieking for help; embraces everyone looking for appreciation yet consolation aggravates; ailments from scorn; cowardly; dislikes her own children; indifference to loved ones; forsaken feelings; ailments from grief; feels alone in the world; as if in a strange land; anxiety about salvation; refuses to eat; becomes destructive; contemptuous; wants to kill with a knife; suicidal.
Delusion that everyone is a devil – vision is now totally distorted, confounding objects and ideas; cannot tell what is good or bad; superiority; everyone is the enemy; religious
despair; darkness aggravates; cruelty; visions of fire; sees spectres, ghosts and spirits; visions of dead people; sees black phantoms; thinks he is pursued by ghosts; praying; religious affections alternate with sexual excitement; lascivious and lustful; erotic insanity.
Delusion everything seems horrible – fearful of everything they encounter; fear of people; fear of men; fear of death; fearful of the impending insanity; ailments from fright;
abstraction of mind; censorious and critical; dwells on the disagreeable past; heedless; makes grasping gestures with the hands; wringing of hands; rage in the evening; wants to kill someone she is fond of; remorse; shrieking with the pain.
Delusion that she is disgraced – very concerned about the outward image, how they present themselves to the world; egotism; ailments after being embarrassed; anxiety when entering a room; dullness in company; laughing followed by sadness; illusions of fancy; superiority; indisposed to talk; anxiety in a crowd; aversion to company during menses; cowardice; everything seems too narrow; discouraged; reserved; proud; offended easily; extravagant; sits still; sighing during menses; sentimental; timid, tranquil, unobserving; unconscious.
Platina is all about being hurt, being second best – so they RETRACT but then come back as someone else. As if to rise above the hurt they position themselves higher than anyone else. The initial retraction is important and there is a curious symptom belonging to Platina – a sensation of retraction, drawing pains in the naval, as if by a string.
But they avoid being the puppet on a string by elevating themselves to a position whereby they can look down on the world in disdain. A precious metal which pays the price of not knowing its own worth.
