I just need a place to vent, to lament the very sad state of medical "care" in my area.
I have a dear friend, a young woman, age 19, who has been put on more than a dozen meds (pharms), just in the four years I've known her. Her mental and emotional state is deteriorating markedly. The psyche meds have left her staring, twitching and often unresponsive unless spoken to. The family lives in isolation and poverty, in a remote area. The father, abused as a child, suffers from constant suicidal thoughts and rarely leaves home. Father & daughter are both gifted artists, lovely people. The mom is completely bedraggled from caring for them and her own sweet elderly mother.
I have occasionally suggested they consult a qualified homeopath, explaining the basic premise of similars. Homeopathy is unheard of here, and any non-orthodox modality is viewed with suspicion by most. Local mountain people are leery of "witching" and with good reason, as some truly bizarre "treatments" were brought here by German settlers in the 1700's, and are still practiced in these hills.
A way out (or in) has presented itself in the form of a dog they acquired from a shelter last year. They were, of course, drawn to a dog who was horribly abused, cowers in terror at storms, has obsessive & destructive behaviors, cannot be left alone, but is basically sweet-natured. And the young woman, who is the dog's primary carer, has just said, maybe we should try homeopathy, since nothing else is working!
I have not used homeopathy with animals before, since I don't own any. I have asked for videos of the dog and information on its fears, food preferences and history. I found some helpful articles online and feel confident we can help this dog.
Any comments on how a pet treated successfully could be a "lightbulb" moment for humans in the same household? I just need a glimmer of hope for these dear people.

There were several presented when I was on Facebook but I doubt they’d be located now if people have left fb. I would have thought there’d be many online somewhere though and I do believe one of our members here is a vet?
I’ll have a search for cases

Thanks, I read every hpathy.com article as they are released, but did not think to research veterinary articles there. Will do.

My young friend has been carefully observing her pit bull terrier and emailed me her observations. I have never personally met the dog. I've seen pictures and heard stories since they adopted her about a year ago. They don't know anything about her history pre-adoption. I don't have any words of the client to share , but the owner is most concerned that the dog cannot be left alone because she "destroys everything." She is also worried about her constant licking of her paws and chewing her claws. I researched the pit bulls and, out of curiosity, repertorized known issues of the breed, after doing her personal rep. The same remedy seems indicated, but I'd appreciate input. Shall I just share my rep, or should I also include the owner's words?

Dixie (6 year old, female Pit Bull Terrier)
These are the words of her owner:
Animal shelter workers thought she MIGHT’VE been abandoned on their steps but could not be sure (no records kept). We've owned her since Summer of 2019. Separation anxiety is very bad... will destroy ANYTHING (table, door, books, leash, etc.) if left alone. Doesn’t even like to be left in a room by herself, when we are home. Gets in a routine, cannot handle it changing, she takes it personally (example: if we run out of canned dog food, she will whine and not sleep all night, the same with her treats). A few days after she starts acting depressed and sulky. Licks paws obsessively. Bites claws once they get to a certain length.
Allergic to wheat gluten. Her nose, eyes and skin turn really pink. She starts licking (her paws) even more.
Will kill cats, tries to go after them anytime she sees them.
Doesn’t really drink water, though she has a bowl of it available, but when she does drink, she drinks a lot.
Always begging for food. (My thoughts: That's just what dogs do, so did not rep.)
Loves children; gets excited around them.
Wants to be touched constantly. (My note: would mesmerized or magnetized, desires apply?)
Loves to wear a shirt or sweater, when she’s in bed has to be completely under a blanket (My note: is wrapped up, desires best rubric?---unusual for a dog)
Acts likes she’s stood for as long as she can and just flops onto the floor. (Known issue with pit bulls: weak hips and knees) Rolls on her back a lot. (Happy or itchy?) Completely turns into a different dog for toys especially if they have a squeaker or it’s a ball. She gets full of energy, ears perk up, will knock me down because she’s so excited, whines if you take it from her. (My note: pretty normal dog behavior, but the intensity is higher).
Lazy, sleeps pretty much all the time. Snores, loudly. Only recently started like showing emotions, like wagging her tail, she wouldn’t ever and now she does a lot. (Note: suppression of emotions, should I rep it? Huge rubrics, of little value?)
Is dramatic about the heat/sun. She tries to get in the shade as quickly as possible and she’ll start panting a lot.
Pouts a lot. Like when she thinks we’re going for a car ride and we don’t, or she’s ready for bed and I’m not, when we don’t have canned dog food.
Sometimes flinches when you go to pet her. (My note: possible history of abuse? Cannot be confirmed.) Acts like she wants to play with our other dog, Harley, but will fight him and not let go. She grabs hold of his throat and will not let go. When I do get them apart, I have to put them in different areas ASAP because they’ll go back at each other. She’s afraid of Harley but is the one who starts the fights.
Gets excited about other animals. I always tell her she can’t fight a cow when we drive by one.
She is afraid of storms. I have a thunder jacket for her and I usually have to hold her and pet her or she’ll try to squeeze herself in a small space or sleep on the floor. (My note: a thunder jacket is a form of pressure therapy for anxiety.) She loves people, she wags her tail and lets them pet her.
Loves to have her head out the window when riding in a car. (Note: not all dogs do this, as per my research.)
She not a fan of water. She doesn’t like rain, she doesn’t like baths.
She barks or whines in her sleep, and kicks a lot. Recently she’s started having dreams where she will wag her tail.
She’s not on any medicine. When I gave her an allergy pill it seemed to make her anxiety worse. I have some anxiety drops from the vet, but they don’t do anything.
I asked about stool habits (normal). Owner also suffers from anxiety and really identifies with this dog, which she got to relieve her own anxiety in the early days of the COVID pandemic.
The next few posts will be screenshots of my rep of Dixie and my rep of known issues with pit bulls (as a matter of curiosity).

This is my repertorization of Dixie, BEFORE my usual editing for KEY issues (presenting complaint). I'm sharing it to get feedback on rubric choices, so feel free to critique. I weighted rubrics on separation and on compulsive disorders as "O" because I thought the owner might be transferring her emotions to the dog. At the very least, we cannot know what the dog is feeling, so they could apply, or might not. Thoughts? Also, the second half of the rep is inserted twice, but when I go back to edit, it's gone. Sorry about that. Attachments:

Known Issues with Pit Bull Terriers I thought this would be of interest. Inbreeding leads to weaknesses common to the breed. Some of the illnesses were hard to translate into rubrics due to my lack of knowledge. Here is the website I got the information from: www.petmd.com/dog/breeds/c_dg_american_pit_bull_terrier

Owner just wrote that the dog does not bleed profusely, but the blood is bright red. (owner clipped her nails too far down, not prone to bleeding otherwise)

Thanks for these. I will get back to you with some ideas. I want to put together what I think are the important sx and haven’t looked at your rep yet so then I am not too influenced with what you’ve suggested.
Hopefully others will have input as well 🤞

My choice of rubrics (not in any order of priority), some questions and notes Fear of being alone (fear = the intensity of the sx) Company amel Fear of storms Destructive Aggressive (not sure about this because sometimes she is excitable without being aggressive) Excitement - pick the best rubric Averse to change + possibly use Fastidious which is the expression of a dislike for change (this represents the cancer miasm?) Anxiety - this is a general but dominant sx so pick the best rubric Obsessive behaviour + Fixed ideas Consolation desires + consolation amel Caressed, desires to be Uncovering aggravates? not sure about this as it seems to represent something deeper, such as wanting to feel safe? Is she frightened of the dark? Becoming heated agg + Heat of sun agg Fresh air amel Bathing agg As you cannot be certain about being abandoned it's best to leave that alone but easily added if necessary. Is there any obvious jealousy shown? Not sure if to include the apparent allergy - at this point in time it is best to avoid anything that upsets her and with wheat it can be not so much the gluten but the wheat itself or even the glysophate used during the growing season You might not be far from Phos but we will keep an open mind becksnyc

My rep includes many of your rubrics, I'm working my way through your excellent suggestions. Fastidious! I was looking for something to express her agg. from disrupted routine, but didn't have a broad understanding of fastidious. Thank you! I emailed the owner to ask about her reaction to darkness and if she is jealous. Your mention of cancer miasm---that's considered tri-miasmatic, isn't it? I see aspects of several miasms at play. Of primary concern to the owner is the destructiveness (Syphillitic?), followed by her "obsessive" licking (Sycotic?), which may be triggered by allergic itching (Psoric?). I wish I could see the dog in person, but the pandemic is hitting my region very hard right now. I can usually "sniff out" (LOL) a Phos a mile away. My gut says she's not Phos, but I lack experience.

View AttachmentI have now looked at your repping and they are good observational rubrics. At some point it might be worth trimming it right down to the absolute basics of the case. Remember: Cause Effect Consequence You don't know the cause - it could well be abandonment, abuse or vaccine damage The effects though are clear - a very fearful, anxious, excitable state The consequences of these are an obsessive behaviour, a needy state, and a destructive state What needs to be cured it seems to me are the intense fears and then in turn this will dissipate the effects of those fears. Phosphorus remains the best choice to me but next stage is comparing with other rx, and ruling out some rx.
