A case of a possible (clinically unconfirmed) rectal (colorectal) cancer in a man of 83
This case is at just beginning and I decided to present it for several reasons. I believe it will be clear why. I sincerely hope that it will be useful to follow, and of course, any suggestion will be welcome. The case is difficult, an uncertain path and outcome await me. I will have to face many temptations. I will also need your support.
The treatment was initiated by members of the family, with agreement of the client.
It started when family members noticed that their father/grandfather often goes to toilet and stays there for a long time. At first (a couple of days) he did not complain nor say anything. To their concerns and questions, he finally said that he had constipation for a month. At that moment they called me. It was not possible to find out whether such a problem had existed before. A man all his life lives in the village, a farmer, dedicated exclusively to work on the land and property, and: to a family. Quite a common image of a traditional man in this area and in this folk, when it comes to those generations (maybe also in others, I'm not sure).
The presenting complaint at first was unclear. I've got the information from his upset daughter, who more expressed her concerns than father's symptoms. On the other hand, he is a man of short-tempered and rude nature, prone to quarrels, criticism and often (for almost everything) he reproaches the householders. Everyone is a little afraid of him, so they avoid opposing him and/or asking 'superfluous' questions.
So, several days I didn't know what is really happening. I had unreliable and vague symptoms. Actually, I knew only that he had a month of constipation, without complaints, without telling anyone, without pain or other discomforts. Or he just didn't want to talk about that.
He agreed to be examined by a gastroenterologist, where the following was found: a large, hard growth in the rectum (colonoscopy was not performed), and laboratory findings showed good parameters, except for mild anemia and the presence of occult bleeding in the stool. US of the stomach, abdomen, liver and kidneys showed no pathological changes. The gastroenterologist prescribed a laxative for 10 days, and after that a follow-up examination.

At that moment, I still had not prescribed any remedy. I decided to observe, think and wait for something that could give me a direction.
Two days after starting to take laxatives, he had a stool. I don't know to what extent there was a discharge, but then suddenly appeared diarrhea. After a few more days, I found out that in addition to the laxative prescribed by the physician, he received various drops, teas, etc. which were also laxatives, given by family members.
It was still difficult to get information, but then I had a current situation: hard stools alternating with diarrhea; frequent ineffectual urging for stool; diarrhea was caused due to excessive use of laxatives.

I managed to find out that the main and biggest problem for him is: ineffectual urge with constant desire for stool.
Only then, I decided to make a first prescription (with a great reservation), with the aim to help a bit, to make it a little easier for the man.

First prescription was Nux-v 30C, every two hours that afternoon and evening, and the next day 4 times a day.
Nothing significantly happened, no strikingly relieve nor aggravation.
I stopped the remedy, because I wasn't sure what was happening to this man, what his real symptoms were. I did not know what is to be cured. What is the level of the disease?
I considered Opium, among other things because he felt no pain in problems that cause pain in the most of people, and I knew from before that he already had such experiences with certain injuries.
I also had in mind Ambra grisea.
Although that family is close to me, I tried to refrain from involving and started to slowly gave up, believing that it is better to let them decide for how things will develop further. There were some other unfavorable hindrances, a woman who is a physician is also close to her family, she does not like homeopathy, etc.
I would probably have completely withdrawn if had not happened the situation on the day of their big family celebration, they called me again, did not know what to do, the whole family including the client believed to me (or perhaps and probably they had no choice; conventional approach, physicians, hospital, they promised nothing good).
I was thinking what to do. I knew that I would not be able to take the case properly, because I know the man and I know that he will not say what I need. But... I went to visit, they invited me to lunch. I brought a notebook, just in case. After lunch, I said to him, 'Do you want us to try homeopathy?' He said he wanted to. Then I told him that we could talk in private if he wanted, on the terrace or in his room. He didn't answer. He did not react at all. There were seven of us in the room at that moment.
Suddenly he started telling me about his childhood, about his mother, how hard that time was, his father was at war. He started crying. My son, knowing what was happening, discreetly started taking the others outside. He recited a song from school to me, through tears. I took the case. To the detail that he has a change on the skin on his right ear, since several decades ago, caused by a sunburn, because his hat fell off his head while he was working in the field.
I thought again about which way to go. Now I had enough for a constitutional prescription, but I considered Dr. Ramakrishnan's three proceedings at the same time. The cancer is not diagnostically confirmed but it is almost certain.
For now, my decision for constitutional is Causticum. (With God's help, it will be needed.)

I decided on the Dr. Ramakrishnan's procedure: Aloe 200C for a week, and the nosode I chose is Scirrhinum 200C for a week, and so on alternately for four weeks.
It's only been 11 days. Two days after he started taking Aloe, the biggest problem – ineffectual urge that caused him to go to the toilet several times during the hour – decreased. That has already brought significant relief. Due to the urge, he could not sleep at night. Now he sleeps all night undisturbed. I haven't seen him since the beginning of the treatment, but they tell me that his complexion has returned (it was ashy gray and yellowish) and they noticed that his glance is clearer. He started arguing again.
When switched from Aloe to Scirrhinum, diarrhea appeared. I was hoping that (if the treatment is good) it will stop in one to three days. It happened.
I'll see him tomorrow.
