"A normal, drug-free physiologic birth after which an infant is given the space to search for the nipple himself primes Psora. He immediately learns the Lesson…..If I struggle; I will survive. If he has access to his mother’s breastmilk throughout the next four years he becomes an autonomous and trusting individual and this sets the pattern for Life." From the preface of, "The Lacs, a Materia Medica & Repertory" by Patricia Hatherly www.patriciahatherly.com/images/books/preface-lacs.pdfI am interested in how birth trauma and substituting formulas (or animal milk) for breast-feeding has impacted patients in later years. Case histories or general discussion would be appreciated. I'd also appreciate your opinions on the best resources for learning about the Lacs. Thanks.

Although I no longer have lecture details I do remember when I was studying at college being shown cases where ‘C’ section (considered to be a birth trauma) created fears much later in life which were traced back to the birth and also autism arising from being born this way. I also remember Stramonium being one remedy mentioned. Very sorry I don’t have these notes any more. You could search the ‘never been well since’ rubrics to gain remedy insights - such as Caesarian, forceps deliver, excessive blood loss, very long and painful labour, unpleasantly bad pregnancies, anaesthetics, previous miscarriages, countless lactation rubrics in repertories etc etc. I only have Master’s book on Lacs in Homeopathy, it’s ok, basic.

Thank you. Am acquainted with a family where all four children delivered by C-section. The oldest boy has ASD, full of fears, gender issues. He is a dear soul and I've suggested repeatedly to his mother that homeopathy would help. I'll do as suggested re: searching the reps. Forceps delivery remedies not a rubric I'd thought of.

Thanks. This is a very interesting topic, which I am thinking about for a long time. 'Modern' everything has brought us to the situation in which the whole of humanity is now, including the last unpleasant events. Already my generation is one of the deceived. In fact, I would say that somewhere with our generations, everything started to gaining momentum. Under the veil of 'scientific', 'modern', 'contemporary', 'democratic', various movements for 'care' and 'taking care' of certain categories of people, something quite the opposite was hidden. In the last twenty years or so, pregnancy has become a diagnosis; childbirth is seen as an unnatural phenomenon, in which a woman needs special treatment (with a lot of procedures and interventions); around lactation "the spears are broken" (I don't know if in English there is some similar phrase) – from one extreme to another. I apologize for this much philosophizing, but I considered it necessary to list some factors, although I am convinced that they are as familiar to you as well as to me, and that we agree on them. ‘Never been well since’ rubrics, as well as Lac remedies can solve many problems and diseases. At least, they should be taken into account, but how to know for sure if something is a consequence of the above-mentioned interventions? It’s all so upside down that it’s hard to pinpoint. We of course take the case, determine the totality, do the DD and prescribe with as much certainty as possible. I'm just thinking publicly. As on another topic here, I think it's about miasms, don't take my word for it, obviously the time has come to look at the individual in the light of the general degradation of the human being, nature and value system.
